Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Whether it is your first class or your hundredth, the regular adult class gives you room to explore your own game.
Who This Class Is For
The regular adult class is for every adult, whether this is your first class or you have trained for years. Adults of every age and fitness level train here, and you set your own pace.
Visiting grapplers are welcome too. If you train at another gym and want to join us for a class, create an account, sign the waiver and buy a drop-in before you come.
We built DEN BJJ as a place for BJJ in Aurora that meets you where your life is, whether you are coming from Smoky Hill, Saddle Rock or across town.
What an Adult Class Looks Like
Situational Positionals
A more open format built on situational positional work, with more advanced positions and techniques than the beginner class, and room to explore them.
Your Own Game
Class leaves time to work on your own game with a partner: the positions you like, the problems you are stuck on, and the ideas you want to test.
Rolling to Finish
Every class ends with rolling, and rolling is always optional. Anyone can say no to a roll, any time, no explanation needed.
Gi and No-Gi
We teach both gi and no-gi classes, and the schedule shows which is which. You can train one or both.
For no-gi, a loose t-shirt and athletic shorts or pants are fine. For gi class, trial students can borrow a loaner gi, so you don't need to buy anything to try it.
How We Train
About 70% of class is games and situational work built from anchor points. The other 30% or so is direct technique, shown and drilled so you understand why it works, not just how.
That mix works if you like a clear technique path, and it works if you learn best by playing and figuring things out. Both kinds of learner train together in the same class.
We encourage exploration and talking with your partner about what worked, what didn't and what to try next. Jiu jitsu is explored here, not prescribed, and we like to try new things.
